Is chiropractic treatment effective?

Study after study (especially over the last 20 years) has overwhelmingly shown that chiropractic is extremely effective treating low back and neck pain, headaches and other nerve and spine related problems.

Does chiropractic treatment require a referral from an MD?

Generally a patient does not need a referral by an MD before visiting a doctorof chiropractic.In rare instances an insurance company might require a referral from an M.D.

What conditions do chiropractors treat?

Primarily problems of the musculoskeletal system and the nerve system. Most often chiropractors treatneuromusculoskeletal complaints, such as back pain, neck pain, arm and leg pain, and headaches.

Do chiropractic treatments (adjustments) hurt?

Chiropractors use very specific and controlled procedures to treat their patients. The techniques used are low force high and velocity with gentle pressure. Generally, and rarely, if any pain is felt it would be the type one might feel when just starting to exercise or stretch after some time off.

The second most common reason for visits to the doctor’s office is for back pain, upper-respiratory infections are the most common and one of the most common reasons people miss work is back pain.

Do chiropractors treat pregnant women?

Absolutely. Some chiropractors specialize in treating a women throughout pregnancy. Chiropractic can be very effective in reducing the pains of pregnancy and making the birth process more successful.

Are all patients adjusted the same way?

Some are adjusted similarly and other are adjusted in a completely different way. The type of treatment a patient receives depends on their condition, age, weight, etc,.
