From The Office of Ann Arbor Chiropractor, Mike Tannenbaum, D.C.

Often I treat patients that complain of the following: severe pain that begins low on one side of the back that travels down the buttock and the leg and possibly underneath the foot and into the big toe. Sometimes these patients have hip pain Very likely what these patients are describing is the well known ailment called sciatica.

In addition to the symptoms described above, sciatica is usually worse with extended sitting or standing. Coughing, laughing, or sneezing can also make the symptoms worse. Backward bending can make the pain worse, as well. Finally, another possible symptom of sciatica is weakness in the leg or foot possibly to the point where one can't move the foot.

Sciatica is a common problem and something chiropractic has a wonderful record of effectively treating and of course chiropractic does this with no drugs or surgery. Please feel free to contact my office if you have any questions about sciatica or sciatica like symptoms as I'm confident I can help you. Our office number is (734) 929-0444.
